Food can transmit disease from person to person as well as serve as a growth medium for bacteria that can cause food poisoning. Robyn will take you through what those potentially hazardous foods are, how to handle them safely, store them safely, cook and cool them safely including proper cooking and reheating temperatures.  There will be a brief demonstration on how to properly use a thermometer and how to calibrate it.  You will learn about food labeling and what best before, use by and expiry dates really mean and what the shelf life is after you open your jarred or canned items. Also outlined will be proper hand washing and dishwashing techniques.
