Service Description: The centre specializes in neuro-rehabilitation and child and youth development, providing treatment to help individuals and groups achieve and increase independence and healthy lifestyles

All of our music therapy programs are adapted for the individuals involved and are based on Neurologic Music Therapy (https://nmtacademy.co) techniques - meaning that music is in a specific way to access different areas of the brain in order to facilitate change or learning of a new skill, or maintain current skills (these could be social, cognitive, physical, emotional, sensory, communication, etc). All programs are facilitated or supervised by certified music therapists specializing in Neurologic Music Therapy and include assessment, treatment goals, and evaluation

Populations worked with include, but are not limited to: stroke, traumatic brain injury, Parkinson’s and Huntington’s disease, cerebral palsy, Alzheimer’s disease, autism, and other neurological diseases affecting cognition, movement, and communication (e.g., MS, Muscular Dystrophy, etc). NMT encompasses neurologic rehabilitation, neuropediatric, neuropsychiatric, neurogeriatric, and neurodevelopmental therapy

Therapeutic goals and interventions address rehabilitation, development, and maintenance of functional behaviors

Mental Health Services provide mental health services supervised by a qualified, regulated professional that are eligible for most private insurances and OAP Core clinical funding. A registered social worker (RSW) supervises the mental health services and works collaboratively with the music therapists, to ensure that the mental health goals are being met

services in person and virtually for individuals and groups for all ages
