Service Description:
|
For an urgent mental health emergency, visit the emergency department for immediate attention and an assessment by a Crisis Specialist * depending on the assessment, the patient may transfer to inpatient services at one of Ontario's Schedule 1 facilities or transition home with referrals to community supports and resources
Community integrated response: provides mental health resources within Dufferin County and Caledon
Mobile Mental Health and Addictions Team (MCRT): is a partnership with the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and offers mobile support for individuals experiencing a moderate to severe mental health or addiction crisis in the community. The Dufferin Mobile Crisis Response Team (MCRT) consists of a co-response team: an OPP officer and a Crisis Specialist from the hospital
The MCRT team is deployed when a call is received by the OPP, as part of the emergency response
Services include:
Joint mobile crisis response, short-term crisis intervention, community referrals, follow up supports and connection to ongoing services, education for patients, their families and supports, effective and efficient police hospital transitions including facilitation of emergency services and interventions should hospital assessment and/or admission be required, outreach to people who may be reluctant to seek mental health and addiction services
