Service Description: A time limited program where crisis counsellor provide support and guidance to a person or a group of people such as a family or community during a crisis working on achieving stability, increasing an internal sense of empowerment and safety through appropriate resources

Crisis Counsellor can help with:

  • global pandemic/natural disasters
  • community resources – a lack of housing resources, food resources, or inadequate crime protection
  • newcomers facing challenges adapting to a new environment (culture, language, racism)
  • economic changes – loss of a job, medical bills, theft of a purse or cash, or utilities being shut off
  • life events - the birth of a child, loss of a loved one, a child moving out, an irrational child, or any disturbance to daily activities
  • family disruption or family disturbance/violence/parental Separation
  • bullying
  • experiencing victim crime
  • suicide – when a person threatens suicide or plans to commit suicide
  • drug use and addiction
  • health related issues (Sudden Illnesses)
  • PTSD (accident OR any witnessing of trauma)
  • children with disabilities exhibiting negative/dangerous behaviours
  • and more...
