Service Description: Fitness classes and other support to people with heart problems to maintain a healthy lifestyle * consist of exercise classes on a regular and ongoing basis * includes classroom setting workouts of differing intensity levels as well as pool exercises

Classes:

Intro to Cardiac (Low Impact), Mon 2:30pm-3:25pm
This is an introductory level program that will help members develop skills to join in the Cardiac Rehab weekly registered programs

Cardiac Rehab (Medium to High Level), Mon, Thu 1:30pm-2:25pm
This is a registered program for Cardiac Rehab Alumni members only. Classes are conducted by certified instructors who provide options for different levels of intensity or ability. It consists of cardio and muscle conditioning, and helps to improve balance and co-ordination

Aquatics - Walk and Tone, Tue, Thu 3pm-4pm
For individuals who have sore muscles/joints, recovering from an accident or post-operation and are unable to participate in the regular cardiac rehab classes

Young at Heart (YAH) (Medium to High Impact),Wed, Fri 1:30pm-2:25pm
Similar to the medium to high impact cardiac programs. They are, however, open to anyone with a Wellness Centre membership – not just cardiac people

Support Group:
Support group for cardiac patients (upon completion of cardiac rehab program)

Application: Registration for the Cardiac Rehab Program must be done at the Chinguacousy Wellness Centre
Eligibility / Target Population: People 14-90 years * graduates from an accredited cardiac rehabilitation program
