Autism Ontario presents a three-part series designed to help caregivers better understand, navigate, and respond to the realities of caregiver stress. This series brings together research, lived experience, and actionable strategies to support your well-being.

This interactive workshop is the final session in Autism Ontario’s Caregiver Stress and Autism: What the Research Shows series, building on the insights from research and lived experience to support caregivers in meaningful, practical ways.

After exploring what the research tells us and how it shows up in real caregiving experiences, this live session focuses on what comes next: supporting you.

Participants are encouraged to watch the on-demand webinars in advance, as this workshop is designed to translate those insights into practical, everyday strategies.

Join Seleena Vieira, Autism Ontario’s Training & Education Social Work Specialist, for a supportive, follow-up session focused on understanding and addressing the unique support needs of caregivers, with an emphasis on improving well-being and mitigating caregiver burnout.

This engaging workshop creates space for reflection, connection, and actionable learning.

Participants will:
  • Reflect on key themes from the research and lived experiences shared in Parts 1 and 2
  • Discuss the specific challenges and support needs of caregivers of autistic individuals
  • Explore different forms of stress and their impact on well-being
  • Learn practical self-care strategies, including how to find support and joy
  • Practice self-compassion and mindfulness to help calm the body and mind
