Our social skills curricula help to establish and develop participants’ skills in interacting and connecting with peers. Using evidence based strategies, this group aims to provide the opportunity for participants to further develop social skills based on their individual needs and interests. Topics explored: expanding on greeting peers, conversation skills with peers through play and structured activities, increasing interactions with peers, engaging in preferred activities with peers and compromising, cooperation, maintaining social relationships, responding to teasing and bullying.

This group is overseen by a Registered Behaviour Analyst and is an eligible expense under Core Clinical Services (CCS) within the Ontario Autism Program (OAP).

Refunds will be provided in accordance with the notice period provided, as outlined below.

 Notice Period:

  • Full Refund (-10% Admin Fee): 30+ calendar days’ notice prior to service date
  • Partial Refund (50% of total): 14-29 calendar days’ notice prior to service start date
  • No Refund: fewer than 14 calendar days’ notice prior to service start date

Please note: Once a group registration request is received on MyCommunityHub the following steps will occur: 

·        A Kerry’s Place Intake staff will reach out to request updated documentation, as needed. Documentation includes: Written diagnosis of ASD, Kerry’s Place Service Agreement, Supported Person Profile (valid for 1 year), Media Release, and others as needed.

·        You may receive a call from a Coordinator to gather further information prior to confirming your spot in the group.

·        Please expect a reminder email 48 hours prior to the group starting from the facilitators that will include further details related to screening instructions, sign-in/sign-out procedures or Microsoft Teams link (if applicable).
