Service Description:
|
Acute palliative care inpatient unit (14 beds) at Brampton Civic Hospital provides:
- complex and acute pain and symptom management
- psychological support to patients, caregivers and families
- care and comfort at the end of life
- admission direct from home to the inpatient unit for
patients with advanced illness who are already registered with one of our palliative care physicians
- support with discharge planning, including discharge home or other facilities
- culturally sensitive care that respects the patient’s beliefs, values and preference
