Service Description: Safe, secure, emergency shelter and support for women, with or without children, who are experiencing abuse or homelessness

Shelter Services:

  • staff are available daily 24 hours
  • clean and welcoming self-contained units (includes fully accessible rooms) – each room has its own kitchenette, bathroom, TV/sitting area and bedroom (telephone, cable and Wifi also provided)
  • individually-packaged, nutritious meals and snacks provided daily
  • showers/baths
  • laundry facilities (laundry facilities also in accessible units)
  • playroom/playground (children can safely play and have fun while still in Mom’s view)
  • video games and movies are available so even the ‘big kids’ can have fun
  • information and referrals to other community services and supports
  • supportive counselling and groups
  • access to childcare and transportation assistance (for appointments and court)
  • staff accompaniment to appointments and court may be available
  • advocacy assistance (when dealing with child protection, income assistance, legal aid, immigration, court or other systems)

Emergency transportation is available to help get to the shelter

Eligibility / Target Population: Women 16 years of age and older and their children, who are experiencing abuse or homelessness
Languages: English
Language Notes: Interpretation and translation will be accessed, when needed
