Service Description: Non-urgent Comprehensive Geriatric Assessments (CGA), focusing on behaviour management for individuals with Dementia, and/or BPSD

Conditions treated:

  • Age 65 years or older
  • Dementia with behavioural and psychological symptoms/neuropsychiatric sympto
  • Delirium with behavioural symptoms
  • Post hospitalization with delirium requiring medication review/taper
  • Long term care residents with dementia related behaviours

Patient exclusion: Psychiatric diagnosis with the exception of depression in addition to the following disorders: Chronic Fatigue syndrome, Huntington's disease, Traumatic brain injury, Alcohol or substance dependence or abuse, Multiple sclerosis, Toxic encephalopathy

Services offered:

  • Standardized Comprehensive Geriatric Assessment (CGA) completed by a Geriatrician, Occupational therapist and Social Worker
  • The patient may also be seen by other health care professionals in this clinic if deemed necessary and appropriate by any member of the interdisciplinary team
